Hand pulled Linocut print

Surrounded by storyboards, scripts and reference materials, a designer will often spend hours staring into the model box, considering every design decision they have to make. This print is a love letter to that process and also to my colleagues, the numerous associate and assistant designers I’ve had the pleasure of making tiny things alongside over the years. The scale model is a representation of the theatre and the set which sits within it. With computer aided design becoming more advanced the model is sometimes viewed as an artistic luxury, especially when budgeting a production. But in truth they are a tool, an art form and an essential part of the design process.
